Will you be teaching me how to dance?
No! Your Dance Medicine is a free-form movement practice. I will create the space, theme, music and ritual to help you enter into your own free-form dance expression. I will also dance right along with everyone else.
What if I don’t have any dance experience?
No dance experience is required. Whether you’re brand new to Your Dance Medicine or you’ve been movin’ and groovin’ for a long time, all are welcome to explore the practice. If you have a body, you are a dancer:)

Can I arrive late or leave early?
Because we start with an opening circle and exercise in each class, it is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes early. If you run late, please wait until the exercise is complete and the dance has begun. I encourage you to stay through to the ending ritual and closing circle for fuller integration of the experience. Abiding by these guidelines also helps keep our experience emotionally safe for everyone.
Why is there no talking on the dance floor?
Your Dance Medicine invites you to get out of your head and into your body. Conversation, chit chat and small talk brings folks back up into their thinking brain and out of their dance. Plus, it can be distracting for others who want to practice fuller embodiment.
What if I don’t like the music being played?
A Your Dance Medicine set list has specific purpose and intention for the dance. If it doesn’t resonate with you, stay curious as to how your body responds. How do you move when you struggle to connect with your environment? How can you connect to a pulse, rhythm, beat, lyric or sound in the music piece? Where and how can you find the connection?
What if I feel strong emotions on the dance floor?
That can happen sometimes. Dance can bring up a full range of emotions because the body and mind are interconnected. Stay present to your feelings, tune into what you might need and attend to them with compassion and care.
Do you offer refunds?
